IT’S CHRISTMAS IN JUNE

Indianapolis based Curtis Publishing, exclusive worldwide licensor of famous Saturday Evening Post art by Norman Rockwell and many of his contemporaries, is pleased to be showcasing its licensed holiday items at Licensing 2002.  “We are proud to be exhibiting at Licensing International for the 14th consecutive year.  This forum puts us in front of the most important decision makers in the licensing arena, and always yields a great return on our marketing efforts,” says Curtis Publishing President Joan Durham.

“Choosing a theme this year was easy,” explains Jeanne Kelsay, Vice President of Licensing.  “With the country’s yearning for a feeling of security, and a renewed emphasis on home and hearth, people want to surround themselves with things that uplift the spirit and evoke a sense of comfort and tradition.  What better conveys that concept than the season of goodwill and harmony?”  It’s no coincidence that many Curtis Licensees use Saturday Evening Post holiday cover art in their product designs.  “We are fortunate to have among our 4,000 images, a large number of seasonal works by the top masters of America’s “Golden Age of Illustration,” Kelsay continues, “and certainly some of the most famous Santas ever rendered.”

Curtis Publishing captures the spirit of the season with its debut of a five-foot bas relief bearing Norman Rockwell’s 1924 Saturday Evening Post cover, Santa’s Good Boys, and a life-sized sculpture of Norman Rockwell’s famous Santa at the Globe.  These and other magnificent pieces provided by The Becker Group of Baltimore, Maryland will be seen in Norman Rockwell Saturday Evening Post “holiday villages” at select malls across the nation.   Among other items adorning booth 3642 will be porcelain collector Christmas houses from Four Star International, tree ornaments from Trevco, holiday collector plates from Islandia International, musical figurines from San Francisco Music Box Company, water globes from Alan Silverstone Inc., Clothtique® Santas from Possible Dreams, Christmas candy tins from American Specialty Confections, holiday coffee tins from Comfort Foods, and Holiday Egg Nog from Lyons Magnus.

Show attendees are invited to stop by booth 3642 and take a digital tour of Curtis Publishing’s vast archive of art available for licensing, learn how the art may be customized and preview dozens of clever adaptations of Post illustrations in ad campaigns and manufactured products.
